Tapered commercial roof insulation is meant to have water rolling off. Usually, when tapered insulation is used, a contractor will install a membrane roof over the top of the insulation. TPO is used on this job.
Piranha plates were made to attach the Membrane to the roof boards.
Tapered ISO boards will better insulate the building. Also will allow water to shed the roof faster. We added 1/4”/foot of pitch to the roof.
Glue the membrane, as well as mechanical fastening, added at the roof perimeter. This will make the TPO more wind resistant and stronger.
Edges of the roof screwed down with TBAR and sealed. Makes the TPO roof strong.
TPO seams are heat welded together to cover the screws and make the roof strong.
Rotten boards had to be replaced before we added new roof.
Used 60 ml GAF Everlast Tpo on this job. And 1/4” to foot iso boards to help the roof drain water.
