Residential Roof Inspection in Knoxville, TN. I had to inspect this residential roof in Knoxville, Tennessee, carefully. This roof had a big tarp that had been installed because there was a hole in the roof so I had to make extremely careful not to step anywhere near this hole in the roof.

The old three-tab shingles were definitely needing to be replaced, and this roof is in bad shape from blistering and old age.

We won’t be able to save these all-gutter guards when we are also reroofing this house because they are in terrible shape.

Tear Off And Replacing Rotten Wood
All of the shingles were torn off, and all rotten wood was replaced. The wood at the valley was the worst and definitely needed to be replaced. The rest of the wood was in good condition.

New Charcoal GAF Shingles
New charcoal GAF shingles were installed on this roof. All pipe boots were replaced. The ridge vent and shingles were all replaced and sealed. The customer should no longer have any leaks or issues.

The whole house had new gutter guards installed. The guards are black powder-coated.

Old metal ridge vents cause Leaks. This is because Roof leaks can come in the gaps of the ridge vent and leaks can come through the exposed nails on the ridge vents that are not sealed.

The shingles are blistered and worn out

The picture above is of a shingle that has a lot of granular loss and therefore is worn out and the picture below is of a shingle that has blistering. Both of these are reasons that this roof is getting replaced.
