3 inch nails in 3/4 inch wood???

This is an up close view of the white drip edge. A close up view of white drip edge with the incorrect nails used on this roof. This is a close up view of a nail that is not the correct nail that should have been used. This is a view of a nail that was not supposed to be used at the eave of the roof. A view of a nail in shingles at the eave of the roof. This was in the incorrect nail. This is a view of white drip edge that is dented and falling off. This is a view of the lower half of a nail that is hanging below the drip edge. This is a picture of the top of the nail and the bottom of the nail exposed below the drip edge. Close up view of exposed nail head at eave of roof.

Why anyone would use 3-inch nails in such thin wood is beyond me. These nails were put in under the architectural tab of the shingles through the bottom shingle and through the metal and fascia, leaving the remaining 2 and a half inches sticking out the back of the wood. Bottom line, Sloppy work!

    • The metal they used wasn’t bent properly, was to thin metal for how they bent it.      Results = wavy, bent up, crooked, sloppy-looking work. This is a view of white drip edge that was not installed properly.
