Proposing a GAF Silver Pledge Warranty Shingle System Knoxville, TN.
This customer found us on the GAF website. They have several buildings they want to reroof with a GAF Silver Pledge Roofing System. This uses GAF Timberline HDZ shingles and 4 GAF components, hoping to get the chance to do an excellent job for these prospective customers.
It might be challenging to get sun tunnel tube extenders in the event of rerouting tunnels when needed.
Some of the buildings on site are in terrible shape. 80-90 percent granule loss. Some are in decent shape with about 50 percent granule loss. This video goes over roof conditions and details of his roof job.
These old ridge vents have lots of problems with leaking and never vent well. GAF Cobra 3 Ridge Vents are pictured below. These are a component of a Silver Pledge Warranty.
The chimney flashing is rusted and will need to be reworked. According to the International Residential Code, the chimneys are close to ridgelines and will not require a cricket.
Chimney caps can sometimes be the cause of leaks. Some of the caps are in bad shape. Some are ok.

These old sun tunnels are no longer made. They appear to be acceptable for another roofing cycle. The replacement could be a challenge in some instances because of the size and ages of them.
Some sun tunnels are too close to valleys. These may need to be rerouted. Further investigation will need to occur about how to do this with vintage sun tunnels.
Some roof pipes may need to be rerouted away from valleys also.

GAF Silver Pledge Warranty is a Registered roof warranty with GAF the countries largest shingle manufacturer. This will include a non-pro-rated 50-year shingle warranty. This warranty covers any manufacturer defects!
Silver Pledge also includes a 10-year GAF workmanship warranty. This warranty will cover any roof leaks that occur for 10 years.
GAF Timberline Weathered Wood color most closely matches the existing roof color.

The gutter helmets have holes in some instances and are sold metal above in other instances. Maybe remove all of these, as per client discussion.
1. Larger ridge cuts should be made to allow more hot attic air to escape. The use of modern ridge vents will also allow better attic airflow.
2. Solar-powered attic vents are very cool, but not necessary with GAF Cobra 3 ridge vents being installed. If solar or power vents are used, it is recommended to put them west facing as this is where most of the roof heat gets trapped.
3. Some soffit vents may be covered by attic insulation. This can cause trouble with roof ventilation.
