Our awesome crew hard at work getting the shingles off the roof and into the dumpster.

As you can see the old roof is a old 3 tab shingle thats worn out just like pipe boots. The rubber on the pipe boots is even dry rotted and cracking

In this beautiful picture you can see we installed a beautiful owens corning estate grey dimensional shingle with brand new pipe boots on all 5 pipes. Yes thats correct I said 5 pipes. Not all of them are in this picture but they all got new pipe boots. This is standard on any roof we do!

If your skylights are over 10 plus years old and your replacing your roof its a very good idea to replace the skylights as well. As you can see these turned out great and the home owner loved them. You can actually see in this picture the old skylights are slightly fogged up. This is due to the air tight seal breaking and letting moisture in between the 2 layers of glass

As you can see these 3 new skylights turned out great and the home owners love them. Velux makes an amazing skylight system. When using the correct flash kits they are seriously leak proof!

So originally the shingles went underneath the metal porch roof and they used sealant to make it waterproof. Well that didn't work. Owner said it leaked ever since he added the porch roof.

We thought about using a rubber membrane but decided against it as using a large section of valley metal would have a much higher likelihood to leak. Here is the section of metal we had bent. We put a 2 inch rise in the middle instead of the standard 1 inch rise and we made each side 16 inches wide with a 1/2 inch open hem. My metal guy said it the largest valley metal he's ever made.

Here is what it looked like after we pulled up the metal panels to cut them. You can see the old shingles on the roof go under the wood for the porch roof

Here is what it looked like after we installed it. We marked the metal panels and popped a straight line on it and then we took off the metal roofing panels and cut 4 inches off it.  Laid the valley metal down and sealed each side. Then we laid the shingles and the metal panels down on top of the valley metal.

The chimney flashing was custom bent for the pitch of the roof and it turned out great. Read picture 

Here is one more picture of the awesome flashing job from the right side. All the fastners have been covered in sealant as well as the top.

Most standard or architectural / dimensional shingles are supposed to be on a 6 inch stagger. This is a perfect example
