INSURANCE & STORM DAMAGE — BE A PREPARED HOMEOWNER
Storm Damage Isn’t Always Obvious — But Insurance Covers More Than You Think
After a major storm, many homeowners assume:
- “My roof looks fine”
- “Insurance will just deny it”
- “I don’t want to deal with the hassle”
The reality?
Most legitimate storm damage is missed without a trained inspection — and most denied claims fail because they weren’t properly documented.
That’s where Litespeed Construction comes in.
File your claim with a purpose or take a chance |
Where are you in the process?
Filing is easy. You just call your agent or use your app to tell them about your claim. The information you file with helps influence your outcome from the beginning. Litespeed can inspect the roof before the adjuster, document damage, and build your proof package. We’ll meet with the adjuster on-site to help ensure all damage is properly evaluated.
🔍 Considering Filing
You’ll need to know the type of damage (usually wind and/or hail) and the exact day the storm happened.
📝 In the Process of Filing
Don’t repair any damage until after the adjustor’s visit. If you have an active leak, we can often tarp to hold off water damage.
📋 Already Have a Result
Insurance has inspected your roof and issued a decision outlining what they’ll pay. It’s important to confirm the approved scope covers all storm-related damage. You can choose to upgrade the materials used in your project.
⚖️ Unhappy With the Result
If you believe your claim was underpaid or wrongfully denied, the next step is a scope and policy review. We’ll evaluate the insurance decision and, if appropriate, help you pursue next steps — including coordinating with a public adjuster when needed.
When you receive your check, it may have your mortgage company on it as a co-payee. It can take extra time to get the check handled properly. |
We help by providing the support you need.
With a contingency agreement, you get us on your team. Basically, you agree to hire us to complete your project if we help you secure insurance funding. We provide support, documentation, and if necessary, a public adjustor.
1. Policy Review & Inspection
Not all insurance policies are the same. We can help you understand the covered perils (wind, hail, etc), and any exclusions you may have. We inspect your roof, gutters, vents, flashing, siding, and accessories for hail and wind damage.
2. Photo & Evidence Documentation
If damage exists, we build a complete proof package — photos, measurements, storm data, and line-item scope comparisons.
3. Insurance Claim Support & Public Adjustor
You file the claim — we handle the technical side.
We communicate directly with your adjuster and walk the roof with them when required.
4. Quality Restoration
Once approved, we replace or repair your roof, using proper materials and manufacturer-approved systems. We’ll provide a certificate of completion, telling your insurance company that the project was completed according to their requirements. Or, we can perform your repairs and you can be done with the whole insurance process.
No money is needed to start a contingency agreement. Your contractor should never ask you for money in advance. |
The Litespeed Experience
✔ We Protect You — Not the Insurance Company
Our job is to make sure your home is restored properly, not patched to the minimum payout.
✔ We Catch What Others Miss
Vent damage, soft metals, underlayment, code upgrades — these are routinely overlooked unless you know where to look.
✔ We Handle the Heavy Lifting
You don’t argue with insurance.
You don’t chase paperwork.
You don’t guess what’s covered.
We do that — so you don’t have to.
⚠️ Important Things Homeowners Should Know
- Delaying an inspection can hurt your claim.
- Not all roofers understand insurance.
- The cheapest bid often misses part of your damage.
You’re not required to take the cheapest estimate OR to get 3 bids. You can choose the contractor you think will provide the best work. That’s Litespeed. |
