Meet Billy Price – Problem Solver, Teacher, and Boots-on-the-Ground Team Leader
Billy Price is the kind of team lead who believes the best way to run a roofing company is to know your people, know your customers, and show up where the work is happening. Friends describe him as outgoing, funny, and caring—but spend a few minutes with him and you’ll quickly see what really defines him: he’s a problem solver.
Billy is an extrovert by nature and believes the best work happens when people actually know each other. That shows up every day at Litespeed Construction, where he’s just as comfortable leading a quick morning team huddle as he is walking a job site or sitting down with a homeowner to explain what to expect during a roofing project—noise, mess, and all.
Before roofing, Billy spent decades managing complex projects, solving problems, and keeping teams focused on clear outcomes. Roofing wasn’t a random career move—it was a strategic pivot. During COVID, it became clear how essential skilled trades really are. While other industries slowed down, roofs still needed fixing and families still needed protection. Billy brought more than 30 years of experience into an industry where trust, expertise, and follow-through matter.
What sets Billy apart as a team leader is his focus on the customer experience. He puts himself in the homeowner’s shoes, asking not just “Is the roof done right?” but “What is it like to live through this process?” From scheduling and communication to handling inevitable hiccups, Billy believes trust is built by being honest, prepared, and present.
That mindset matters most when things don’t go perfectly. One of the projects he’s most proud of started with a mistake—a crew removed more roofing than planned. Instead of deflecting blame, Billy and the team owned it, communicated clearly, and found a solution that ended up working better for both the customer and the company. To him, doing the job right isn’t about being flawless—it’s about delivering a solid result and a happy customer, even when plans change.
Billy is also vocal about the importance of choosing a local roofing company—one that lives in the community and stands behind its work long after the job is done. Litespeed recently handled a warranty call nearly ten years after installation, a reminder that longevity and accountability matter.
Outside of work, Billy runs on coffee and stays sharp by continually learning—watching industry videos, attending webinars, and keeping up with new materials and technology. He’s excited about the future of roofing, from durable synthetic materials to drones, AI-powered measurements, and improved safety equipment.
He prefers early starts, organized workspaces, and being boots-on-the-ground rather than behind a desk. Coworkers often describe him as a teacher—someone who shares knowledge freely and helps others get better at what they do.
At the end of the day, Billy believes roofing is a process with an outcome. That outcome should always be a roof that lasts, a customer who feels informed and respected, and a job done with integrity. Or, put simply: solve the problem, do it right, and take care of people along the way.
